Laurence and Patrice welcome you in their guest rooms / gîte in Vernou on 2500m² of garden with swimming pool, at the foot of the Guadeloupe National Park at the beginning of the road of the Traversée, at 200m of altitude. Our site is entirely non-smoking.

The Villa Kannel is a guest house with a capacity of 10 real beds, ideally located in the center of the island of Guadeloupe, in Basse-Terre, to discover the traces, the falls and waterfalls, the beaches, the botanical garden of Deshaies as well as the Cousteau Reserve (beach of Malendure at 20mn).

Villa Kannel obtained the label Esprit Parc National on December 12, 2019, in accordance with the National Park Charter.

An Eco Responsible Approach

Laurence and Patrice have chosen to respect the environment on a daily basis in order to preserve the environment in which we live. This is why we have committed ourselves to the following points for our guest rooms and ask our guests to participate by applying our instructions:

Waste reduction (waste sorting and composting of organic waste, reduction in the use of plastics, etc.),
Energy saving (solar water heaters, LED lighting, etc.),
Water conservation (rainwater recovery and treatment),
Use of ecological cleaning products,
Catering with local, fresh and seasonal products,
Villa Kannel is equipped with a 7KW fast charging station for electric cars.

We spent 10 dream days in Guadeloupe and the villa Kannel was part of it. The house is ideal for relaxation after days of sightseeing or beach. We went there with our children (5 and 7 years old) and for them too it was a great discovery. The hummingbirds, the sound of nature and the pool really made them happy. Laurence and Patrice really have a magnificent house in a green and paradisiacal setting. They are always very attentive.

The rooms are great and so is the table d'hôte. Laurence makes you discover the typical dishes of the region and her cooking is delicious. The location is really great to get around the island.

Fantastic stay at Villa Kannel

Laurence and Patrice are very welcoming, very friendly and very good advice for the visits. The aperitifs are convivial and the evening meals are excellent and very practical (a big plus!). The breakfasts are home-made and copious. They can also be taken very early in case of morning excursions. The garden is beautiful, the location perfect for visiting the whole island. Laurence and Patrice really deserve all the glowing comments made by all the visitors. What happiness! Go there with your eyes closed!

A true corner of paradise

Laurence and Patrice's welcome, their kindness to their guests and all their good advice to visit Guadeloupe according to what you are looking for. It is good to stay at Villa Kannel, we feel like at home. It is very pleasant to be able to take advantage of the swimming pool to refresh oneself after a beautiful and long day of visit. The rooms are very clean and tastefully decorated. Not to mention the breakfast, a real delight. We also took the evening meal on the spot and were able to treat ourselves every day with the meals prepared with local products and always varied. In short, when we return to Guadeloupe we will stay at Villa Kannel again.
